20116 Annual General Meeting


The AGM was held on Wednesday 18th May at the Cotils. It was attended by around 25 people including a number of the newly appointed Deputies showing their support.

 

The Chairman, Steve Le Page, spoke first to welcome everybody and present the formal part of the AGM, covering the last 12 months, and to re-elect the committee. Mike Good, our treasurer, then explained the finances for the past year.

 

The main part of the meeting was given over to a speaker from the UK, Katherine  Roberts, a Research Communications Officer. Katherine first spoke about what is MS, the varying symptoms and the research currently taking place. Katherine also spoke about the medications which are available now, in the UK, and the number of medications currently being trialed.

Katherine also spoke about the MS Register which was launched in 2011.  On the website it states that the Register will  ' form an accurate picture that will revolutionise our understanding of MS'  Katherine was very keen to encourage as many people with MS to participate in the study.
